Cabernet sauvignon at Deakin Estate's Wingara site.
I am a research scientist at CSIRO Plant Industry, currently working on canopy function in grapevines. Prior to this I worked as a post-doctoral researcher at RSBS, part of the Australian National University, for five years. During this time I was studying the interaction between elevated CO2 and phosphorus availabilty on nitrogen fixation in legumes. Before coming to Australia I was a post-doc at the University of York for three years, investigating the effects of temperature and shading on root demography and respiration. My PhD, completed in 1997 at the Nottingham Trent University, examined post-harvest physiology of potatoes.
This site gives an overview of my research to date and a look at my personal interests. You can navigate using the menu to the left. The "Downloads" section gives you access to copies of published papers and my thesis.
